Go Whangarei

It’s quite simple... generating momentum, maintaining ones pace and striving for positive outcomes creates success in every way… that is my drive... that is my passion. I thrive on knowing that by helping others, whether as individuals or as part of the wider community, it will make a positive difference, whether in a big or small way and always willing to go the extra mile in an endeavour to generate success.

Whether lending a helping hand in the community or as treasurer of the local community centre or primary school is a way of contribution, it creates a means of knowing that every little bit counts in the wider community, and that is what I aspire to.

I am very proud to be standing as a councillor for the Okara Ward, and especially more so to be part of an inspiring and progressive team; Go-Whangarei! I easily align my values and integrity in what I believe will be a Whangarei success story for many years to come.

Being positively energised with dynamic ideas I truly believe that what Go-Whangarei stands for is what’s right for the entire Whangarei community. Once you read what we are focused on together as a united team, you will most certainly understand our passion and dedication to ‘get things done!’

Change is good, fresh eyes are even better and by actively making a difference, is Go-Whangarei’s ultimate goal.

I may have a 24-year career as an accountant, however I don’t see myself as a typical ‘bean-counter’, but rather as a passionate individual who loves to work closely with others in business to align them with success. “Let’s think outside the square’ I often find myself saying, and by using a dynamic and logical approach with all opportunities, it is more often the key to success.

I pride myself on the fact that I possess empathy and enjoy being around people while actively listening to their stories, aspirations and desires for a better future. This is the catalyst which creates my positive energy for always wanting to lend a helping hand, in whatever needs to be done.

I have a full and energetic life... and, as such, am the master of time management. My family are my everything and to see my children reach for the stars gives me the certainty that I am being the best I can be.

My other side of being a woman is my career, where I am committed to my position as Acting Chief Financial Officer for a local thriving organisation in Whangarei. I get a sense of fulfillment going to my office knowing that I am going to meet new people, generating new business opportunities or simply just being productive and efficient in creating positive outcomes at the end of the business day.

Staying active is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, body and mind; from regularly going to my local gym which is a fantastic place, to enjoying the entire 2016 run/walk series with a good supportive friend, is what keeps me busy and happy.

Therefore, being part of the Go-Whangarei Team was a logical choice for me, their views about reducing the rubbish costs, enabling businesses to grow, fixing the rates and increasing the parking within the city in my view are all essential for Whangarei’s growth.

By electing the whole Go-Whangarei Team we will see positive growth and vitality for this district.
